Turfdry Sees Off the Competition at Enfield Golf Club

Added: 10th September 2015

Following the successful installation of the Turfdry Drainage System using Hydraway Sportsdrain on a further 6 greens at Enfield Golf Club, Turfdry was delighted to sponsor one of the tees for club’s recent hosting of the Jamega Pro Golf Tour.

The ProAm tournament was held from 23rd – 25th August, and in typically British fashion, the elements saw fit to play a part in proceedings, with golfers having to shelter from a thunderstorm for some time.

Despite the pessimism of many of the professional golfers as to whether play would be able to resume in light of the relentless rain, the various instances of the Turfdry Drainage System using Hydraway Sportsdrain – which in addition to the 7 greens drained also includes some fairway drainage installed as part of a collaborative project with the Environment Agency in 2014 – worked well, quickly draining excess surface water and facilitating the prompt resumption of play.

Turfdry is pleased that the smooth operation of the club’s competition was facilitated by the installed drainage, and looks forward to monitoring the system’s effectiveness as we move into the wetter months. Indeed, the club seems very happy with Turfdry's work, with General Manager Paul Beresford Green commenting:

"Turfdry have again exceeded expectations for design, consultative approach and quality of workmanship. Whilst time was not on their side due to unseasonal weather conditions, the team worked hard to catch up and almost succeeded. Importantly, this was achieved without cutting corners or compromising on quality. I am completely confident giving Turfdry our unreserved endorsement and will happily engage their services again if and when the need arises.”
